Job Description

You will co-ordinate and direct the planning of oil and gas processing plants and installations at our existing and future production sites world-wide. You will be responsible for engineering, budgeting and scheduling at all stages of a project from design and development to plant construction and commissioning. A key area of responsibility will be monitoring contractor companies during planning and installation.

Your main tasks and responsibilities in detail: 

• Liaise with clients of our operating companies (OPCO’s) to identify and understand their technical requirements, constraints, and deliverables etc. and determine scope of work.
• Prepare feasibility studies and conduct conceptual electrical engineering for production, transportation and/or storage facilities
• Project management: planning and securing the project targets regarding deadlines, costs and technical plant performance, quality management
• Development of engineering documentation in the following areas:
  - electrical power generation, supply and distribution
  - instrumentation and automation technology,
  - remote control and transmission technology
  - gas flow and gas quality measurement technology
• Preparation of recommendations for modification of existing system technology
• Analysis of plants for their potential in reduction of failure risks and increasing availabilities
• Ensure fulfillment of project objectives ( HSE, Scope, Time, Cost, Quality)
• Initiate hazard and operability (HAZOP) studies and safety review meetings
• Preparation of cost estimates for capital investment and operational costs
• Control and management of contractors for engineering and installation
• Preparation of technical specifications and tender documents

Personal Specification

 

The position will be based in Germany and requires frequent international travel, including to non-European countries.

 

Skills/Experience:

• an advanced degree in engineering and specialize in the field of electrical engineering
• at least five years of successful experience in comparable positions in international capital investment projects
• have demonstrated excellent management skills as a project team leader
• be familiar with the main features of project management
• be familiar with the various applications of CAE-tools for plant construction and engineering (Microsoft Office, Visio, CAD, CAE,)
• Sound knowledge of business administration
