QUALIFICATIONS: Class 1 Masters FG cert - STCW 95, GMDSS revalidated. Management of Offshore Emergencies

Served as Department Head on offshore semi-sub duties: Reports to Marine Superintendent.

Has overall command & control of the installation in an emergency.

Have the overriding authority and the responsibility to make decisions with respect to safety and pollution prevention.

Must be fully committed to working safely. To ensure all personnel are aware of and work safely following company policies and Procedures.

Ensure compliance with local government  requirements. Store requirements with operator's reps, company supervisors, service company, onshore rig manager and onshore operator.

Ensure compliance with the company permit to work system.

Ensure the efficient and effective implantation of STOP.

Work closely with Marine Superintendent in planning and executing Marine operations and operational contingencies.

Ensure the certification of company personnel (in conjunction with the Training Dept) is in date and valid for their work.

Establish a Safety Committee, arrange elections of Safety Reps and hold regular meetings.

Ensure 3rd party equipment received has correct documentation and is inspected by a competent person before use.

Stopping any job if it is unsafe or if the job is not going according to plan.

Monitor the activities of departments under the control of the Barge Master, Chief Engineer, Senior Toolpusher, Catering Manager and all Operator and Service Company Supervisors
