Offshore Operations Director


OVERALL PURPOSE OF THE JOB:

To direct and control the delivery of the Company’s offshore service offering and to develop and implement our offshore strategy to meet existing and future offshore objectives.

 

KEY TASKS AND RESPONSIBILITIES:

1.       Contribute to the development of the Company’s corporate strategy and lead strategy development in the offshore sector to ensure the Company achieves its short and long term objectives.

2.       Develop and implement high quality operational policies and procedures to support and ensure achievement of the offshore business objectives.

3.       Ensure ongoing compliance with the above and continually review to ensure relevant, compliant and effective.

4.       Maintain regular contact with clients to keep them aware of offshore developments and to seek feedback from them in order to effectively implement a programme of continuous improvement, and further business development.

5.       Directing and working with the Business Development Manager (Offshore), evaluate potential business opportunities, establish targets, prepare business development plans and ensure effective implementation once approved

6.       Develop close working relationships with other key functions in V.Group to keep them aware of, and seek their views on, proposed offshore organisational changes to ensure that there is a co-ordinated approach.

7.       Provide advice and guidance to managers and staff on all aspects of offshore business opportunities.

8.       Maintain an awareness of any possible threats to the offshore business and develop policies and processes that will provide for such contingencies.

9.       Maintain an awareness of developments in the offshore field and ensure advantage is taken of the latest thinking in these areas.

10.   Commission and undertake research in the field of offshore development to ensure the organisation implements policies and approaches that will improve operational effectiveness.  

11.   Maintain an up to date knowledge of competitors to evaluate the strengths and weaknesses of their products and/or services.

12.   In conjunction with the Business Development Manager (Offshore) investigate and propose alliances with local companies in host countries to enhance V.Ships Offshore (VSO) presence and stimulate business opportunities.

13.   Monitor the preparation, presentation and follow-up of commercial offers.

14.   Oversee and support as appropriate, the negotiation of contracts.

15.   Critically evaluate the costs and benefits of all new offshore initiatives to ensure resources are appropriately directed.

16.   Develop and monitor budgets for all offshore development projects.

17.   Pro-active participation in various Group activities e.g. promotion, cross-selling and preparation of publicity materials.   

 

REQUIREMENTS OF THE JOB (Essential skills, qualifications and experience)

Education to degree level or equivalent relevant sector experience at a senior level.

Previous strong experience in the operation of offshore assets

Contract negotiation skills.

Interpersonal skills of the highest order.

Excellent written and verbal communication skills

Presentational skills both personal and in the use of presentational aids

Regular worldwide travel is a requirement of this position.
