LOCATION: Houston and various domestic and international project locations
BASIC FUNCTION: Assist Site team and Project manager for all projects which includes new construction, major modifications, upgrades and repair of drilling rig. The position include the responsibility and control of technical systems assigned to him to be in accordance with agreed project objectives, design criteria, schedule and commercial requirement.
DUTIES: AUTHORITY
Conduct and organize, as required rig inspection to define project scope to meet project objectives;
Develop equipment specifications and shipyard scope of work in accordance with Company standard;
Interface and coordinate project with others project discipline engineer. Attend / organize design review;
4. Assist to prepare tender and issue RFQ to vendors to procure new equipment in accordance with Company policies. Make recommendations and submit PO to management;
Submit work progress report and concern periodically to project manager;
Review and approve shipyard design , drawings , specifications and documentation;
Inspect, follow up shipyard contractual commitments, work progress and expediting. Attend and record results of FAT. Follow up class or regulations issue on equipment. Follow up with punch list;
Follow up any outstanding or warranty issues with vendors;
Track , coordinate and support technical queries with shipyard;
Prepare and attend commissioning work test;
QUALIFICATIONS: DEFINITION OF AUTHORITY Authority I To act' Authority II To act but inform the person to whom he reports to and other interested parties; Authority III To consult before acting.
Will work out of Houston office with approximately 50% travel and short term assignments to shipyards across the globe.
Qualifications: EDUCATION: Bachelor of Science in mechanical, structural , marine or naval Engineering (depending discipline) ; as a minimum formal higher education related engineering discipline or technical school.
EXPERIENCE: 1 to 2 years minimum experience in engineering offshore and drilling oil industry preferable. Will consider recent engineering graduate.
SKILLS: Demonstrate expertise in planning the Work and construction inspection
SPECIAL REQUIREMENTS: The individual must be able to work independently and within team environment. Must be able to be relocated internationally. Proficiency in project schedule and risk management is desirable.

INGENUITY: The position required to display ingenuity in the construction of offshore drilling systems as well as in planning capable to carry on project in a timely manner.
DECISION MAKING: Must be capable to take decision and recommendations with minimal supervision.
