Individuals with experience in any of the following areas are ideal candidates for the position:
BS in mechanical engineering;
Five (5) years of mechanical design or field experience with utility systems – air handlers and air distribution systems, chillers, cooling towers, pumping systems and boilers– or have equivalent knowledge gained through actual utility system analyses at pharmaceutical, institutional, medical, educational or housing facilities;
Five (5) years well rounded experience in HVAC, TAB, DDC controls, construction and operations/field troubleshooting;
Strong communication and technical writing skills;
Ability to perform heat load calculations and building energy modeling (DOE/Trace) is a plus;
Knowledge of water and air distribution systems;
Must be computer literate with word processing / spreadsheet software;
Must be physically able and willing to conduct site inspections and field engineering work (climb ladders, walk on roofs, etc.);
Ability to work in a team-oriented environment.
Job Description: We are seeking a qualified field engineer to support the growing demand for our retro-commissioning, testing and diagnostic services. The ideal candidate will be tasked with the following:
Work closely with clients to improve the reliability and efficiency of their utility systems such as air handlers and air distribution systems, chillers, cooling towers, pumping systems and boilers;
Identify and analyze root causes of system degradation or failure;
Identify opportunities to improve system performance as part of overall energy conservation management programs;
Conduct field testing to troubleshoot and solve complex HVAC and utility system problems and inefficiencies;
Interpret performance test data, drawing conclusions and making recommendations for corrective actions;
Cultivate and develop new client relationships and accounts.
