  • Commissioning Services:  new building commissioning, start-up commissioning, third party design reviews
  • Day 2 Services:  operations and maintenance planning and consulting, training programs
  • Field Engineering Services:  retro-commissioning, re-commissioning, field performance testing troubleshooting
  • Energy Advisors:  energy audits, project feasibility studies, cogeneration and distributed generation screening, energy benchmarking, energy purchase consulting (ongoing commissioning)

Energy Engineer/Senior Energy Engineer



Background:
Dome-Tech Incorporated, a UTC Power company is the leading provider of commissioning services in the Northeast.  Our wide range of clients include higher education, healthcare, industrial, pharmaceutical, financial and commercial markets.  With our unique combination of field and design experience, we provide complete in-house testing and verification services to guarantee unbiased results.  Our commissioning services comply with ASHRAE Commissioning Guidelines as well as USGCB Leed Guidelines and principles.  We also provide Total Building Commissioning for new building construction, additions and renovation.  In addition, we have an array of services that help improve the operations and energy efficiency of buildings throughout their life-cycle.
       
Primary Duties and Responsibilities: 

  • Perform energy audits of commercial, industrial, healthcare, higher education and municipal/county government customers;
  • Identify and developing energy conservation opportunities, operational measures and capital upgrades relating to energy management systems, lighting, mechanical and electrical systems, water consuming equipment and fixtures, building envelope, etc.;
  • Development of greenhouse gas reduction strategies;
  • Prepare budget quality cost estimates and technical reports;
  • Perform calculations of energy savings and greenhouse gas reductions;
  • Assists in all stages of the development process for potential energy projects;
  • Prepare and present technical presentations of the proposed projects.

Education/Experience Requirements:

  • Bachelor’s degree in Engineering or extensive equivalent experience;
  • Five or more years experience in energy services, energy conservation and/or experience in the commercial and industrial energy plant operations;
  • CEM, LEED certification is desirable.

Desirable Skill Sets & Subject Matter Knowledge

  • Energy auditing experience including development of cost and savings estimates;
  • Must have knowledge of energy-efficiency technologies suitable to understand their practical application at client facilities;
  • Knowledge of project cost estimating required;
  • Knowledge of chilled water plants and systems, HVAC, boilers and steam systems, heat recovery technologies, microturbines and cogeneration applications;
  • Knowledge of utility tariffs and rate structures, understanding of energy procurement in deregulated markets;
  • Experience with energy plant operations and/or design and/or construction;
  • Experience developing or participating in sustainability initiatives;
  • Must have a working knowledge of Excel, Word, MS Project, Visio, AutoCAD;
  • Knowledge of energy modeling software desirable;
  • Ability to travel up to 20% desirable.
