We are seeking experienced Project Engineering Design Managers to manage the development and engineering aspects of projects. The Project Engineering Design Manager will be responsible for reviewing applications engineer project technical feasibility documents, technical assessments, facility drawings with relevance to integration and for developing final engineering drawings and operational sequence documentation.
The successful candidate will be tasked with the following:
- Conducting design reviews and value engineering of solutions;
- Strong AutoCAD skills and the ability to generate CAD drawings related to the project scope related to their engineering discipline (Mechanical or Electrical);
- Work with contracted engineering firms to ensure design criteria are implemented into the final construction drawings;
- Work with Applications Engineers to develop final project scope;
- Work with Project Managers to ensure project scope is implemented as designed;
- Engineering oversight of projects during construction to ensure projects are being implemented as designed;
- BS in Mechanical engineering and or/Electrical engineering;
- PE,LEED certification and/or CEM a plus;
- 10 years experience in energy equipment procurement, design and construction;
- Knowledge of relevant codes as related to engineering field for co-generation devices;
- Design and construction knowledge in one or more of the following areas: boiler plants, chilled water plants, HVAC and mechanical systems (design/operations/service), lighting, small to medium scale cogeneration projects (5mw or less), renewable energy technologies such as solar and wind power;
- Experience with Fuel Cells, Micro turbines and Geothermal Binary cycle applications a plus;
- Working knowledge of distributed generation, cogeneration and/or utility plant project/operations experience;
- Experience with project scheduling tools such as Primavera, MS Project, MS Office, etc..
Prior experience working in a quality driven environment a plus.
Willingness for overnight travel (up to 25%).
Strong consideration will be given to those candidates who possess the ability and willingness to take on additional responsibilities such as leading other Project Engineering Design Managers as the business grows.
