Mercy Ships, a global charity, has operated hospital ships in developing nations since 1978. Mercy Ships brings hope and healing to the forgotten poor, mobilizing people and resources worldwide, and serving people without regard for race, gender or religion.
Mercy Ships welcomes volunteers who would like to give of their time, efforts and expertise to the work of bringing hope and healing to the poor. Short-term volunteers can participate from two-weeks to a year with Mercy Ships, while others may choose to serve in a volunteer career capacity.

Responsible for assisting crew members, passengers and guests with embarkation and disembarkation details.Accurate communication of ship’s daily business.Routing incoming calls for crew members.
2. ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES
Answer internal/external phone and fax lines; paging.Passport checks and articles/crew effects signing by crewRespond to emergency signals from fire central control panel while in port.Initiate appropriate response during in port emergencies and coordinate mustering of crew during fire and other emergencies.Maintain accurate display of ship’s duty rosters.Knowledge of Company SMS as it applies to responsibilities involved in this position.
3. QUALIFICATIONS

3.1. LANGUAGE SKILLS
Ability to read and interpret documents such as safety rules, operating and maintenance instructions, and procedure manuals.Ability to write routine reports and correspondence in clear English & good verbal communication skills in English.
4. CERTIFICATES / LICENSES / EXPERIENCE
High school diploma or general education degree (GED); or one to three months related experience and/or training; or equivalent combination of education and experience.
